The customer wanted to accurately mix a concentrated base solution with water. The volumetric ratio had to be within 0.5 µL per stroke. Using two pumps was expensive and presented electronic control challenges.
Diener’s adjustable metering pumps can be calibrated at precise dispense volumes, so it made sense to mount one pump to each end of a stepper motor. The pumps operate together and are calibrated to the exact volumetric ratio, in this case 1 part buffer to 10 parts water.
